Urges.

“Dear human, Live not just exist!”

There are many urges in this space.
Urge to stand in a crowded sitting.
Itch to utter the truth, obedient to honesty.
Urge to turn oneself into an open book
When that special person turns up at your door
Urge to hide and run away from something broken
Heart better unhealed.
Urge to be soaked under the dry sun.
But of all the urges, one is left unspoken
Urge that peeks from behind the veils
of my heart, on days too mundane.
It bubbles up to the surface of my skin
I can sense it
But I cannot exhale.
When the insides of my house are silent,
But the corners are lit with clinking glasses
And bursts of laughter.
In such cacophony, my heart stays still
This urge then crawls inside the house.
It is lovely, I won’t lament.
For ages, these insides have craved
For a change.
My heart calls and beats through my skin
This urge is ripping apart the veils
This potent urge to feel something
When will I exhale?

How easily we get consumed by the daily notion of life? Working, eating and sleeping, is that it? Thanks to poetry, it keeps me insane.

While we go through every day in a set pattern, this feeling to feel something possesses the power to shake our ground. It is so hard to resist this urge. It is the greatest of all urges. It arrives at our doorstep and intrudes in our house to speak the truth to us.

“Dear human, Live not just exist!”

I feel, only when we start to truly live, do we start to truly feel. The sense of being in presence, is in itself, very strong. And this urge to feel something resonates with that.

Thank you so much for reading!
